Good food, close to home

Discover farm shops, butchers, bakeries & every other local food producer near you.

No shop near you?

Some of the best producers in the country haven't got one — no counter, no farm gate, nowhere to visit at all. A search will never find them. They sell online instead.

Know a hidden gem?

Tell us about an independent producer you love. If we love them too, we'll feature them as a myfoody pick.

Mains

Homemade Dry Cure Bacon

Myfoody · Serves A lot!

I make this from time to time. Its stupidly simple and actually really cost effective as although it makes a great sandwich filler its useful for loads of other dishes especially pasta where you can use it like pancetta (especially if its on the salty side). Lots of recipes call for you to cut the skin off but I love rind so I leave it on.

Baking

My Best Banana Bread Recipe

Tom S · Serves 8

This is one of my favourite things to make as it's dead easy, very tasty and means good bananas don't go to waste because they look a bit too far gone for the girls in the house. This is exactly the state you need the bananas to be in!

Stirato Bread

Tom S · Serves 4

My favourite bread in the world - only from a bakery in Cornwall normally - recreated as best I can!

Desserts

Gooey Chocolate Orange Brownie

Tom S · Serves 8

My signature pud thats been honed over the years of putting my leftover easter eggs to good use. Can easily skip the orange and make it just a classic one. Most importantly its fudged, gooey and definitely not cakey.

Drinks

Sloe Gin (or bullace or damsons!)

Myfoody · Serves 1 person for a whole Christmas!

I make this every year in time for Christmas. It's incredibly easy and makes two things I hate (berries and gin) into one thing I love.
